Position Overview The Welding Instructor reports directly to the lead instructor and is responsible for facilitating both classroom and practical application of conventional hand welding processes. Instructors will need to learn and instruct students on LWT’s proprietary education curriculum, evaluate student learning through competency tests, skill demonstration, and welding certification.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Instructs designated welding classes with motivation and enthusiasm.
- Conducts student grading, evaluation, and processes weld qualification documents.
- Records test scores accurately in the SIS/LMS.
- Maintains welding equipment, shop equipment, and hand tools.
- Enforces strict shop safety rules and housekeeping to ensure the safety of the students.
- Maintains control of the classroom, handles student day-to-day issues, and ensures student morale is maintained at a high level.
- Ability to teach students of various ages and diverse backgrounds.
- Accurately completes and submits all internal and external reports and forms in a timely fashion.
- Works toward maintaining an annual average of 95% student retention.
Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the US.
- Driver's License (Required).
- Minimum of 3 years’ industry experience in GTAW, SMAW, and GMAW/FCAW welding.
- Experience welding stainless steel and aluminum.
- Must have a certificate of completion from a reputable welding training program, Apprentice program, or equivalent.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word and Excel required).
- Must be willing to gain additional AWS certifications and regular continuing education courses and remain in compliance with instructor requirements defined by the ACCSC.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years industry experience.
- Experience as a welding instructor.
- Experience with curriculum design and adult learning concepts.
- AWS CWI certified.
Performance & Evaluation Standards
Instructors will be evaluated on their ability to promote and implement the objectives of the school, keep up equipment evaluations, and adhere to the curriculum.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
