Job Overview
Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church is seeking someone with a passion for helping children know, love, and follow Jesus while partnering with parents to build lifelong faith. As a traditional, historic, multi-generational church loved by young families in downtown Savannah, Wesley serves more than 300 children from birth to fifth grade, encompassing nursery care, Sunday School, Children's Worship, and a young children's choir. Eli's Place preschool serves more than 140 children from birth through pre-K. The Children's Ministry Assistant is a full-time, hourly position with benefits and a Sunday through Thursday work week. Compensation commensurate with education and experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibility for organizing teaching resources:
- Children's lessons and activities
- Sunday School story pieces
- Sunday School and Children's Worship class rolls and attendance
Assist with Sunday morning ministries:
- Lessons and activities for Sunday School children (ages 3-10) and Children's Worship participants (ages 3-8)
- Lessons for 4th and 5th grade Bible Basics
- Leading Sunday School and Children's Worship
- Assist with Wednesday night supper and related activities
- Assist with special events and programs
- Assist with Nursery Ministry
- Assist with Eli's Place carline
- Substitute at Eli's Place on an as-needed basis
Pay: $19.50 - $25.00 per hour
