Join our dynamic team as a Seasonal Construction and Apartment Make-Ready Technician! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for preparing residential units for new tenants by performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and renovation tasks. Your expertise will help ensure each apartment is move-in ready, safe, functional, and visually appealing. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive repairs and maintenance on plumbing systems, electrical equipment, HVAC units, and mechanical components to ensure optimal operation.
- Conduct apartment make-ready tasks including painting, cleaning, drywall repairs, flooring installation, and general cosmetic improvements to prepare units for new tenants.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems using schematics and tools such as ohmmeters; operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) when applicable.
- Utilize welding skills for metal repairs or modifications as needed to maintain building integrity.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and document all repairs with detailed reports.
- Supervise or assist with subcontractors or team members during large projects or complex repairs, demonstrating leadership and coordination skills.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while working with electrical equipment, plumbing systems, HVAC systems, and power tools to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
Experience
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or residential property repair with a strong mechanical background.
- Skilled in electrical repair including troubleshooting circuits and repairing electrical equipment; familiarity with schematics essential.
- Knowledge of HVAC system repair and routine maintenance procedures.
- Hands-on experience with plumbing system maintenance and repair techniques.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and testing devices like ohmmeters confidently.
- Supervisory experience is preferred but not required; leadership qualities are highly valued for team coordination.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly in English; capable of explaining technical issues simply to residents or team members.
