Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for working with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly those on the autism spectrum. As an RBT, you will implement individualized behavior plans, assist with daily living skills, and collect data to support positive behavior change. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through direct patient care and behavioral health interventions.
Duties
- Implement behavior intervention plans based on principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) under supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, hygiene, and basic self-care tasks.
- Collect and record accurate data on client behaviors to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments.
- Support clients in developing social skills, communication, and adaptive behaviors tailored to their individual needs.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation, including progress notes, care plans, and behavioral records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with caregivers, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency in behavioral strategies and support plans.
- Foster a positive, engaging environment that encourages learning, growth, and independence for clients with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) or eligibility for certification.
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, especially those on the autism spectrum.
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, including applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavior management strategies, and data collection methods.
- Ability to assist with ADLs and implement teaching strategies aligned with individualized care plans.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and confidentiality standards such as HIPAA.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and families.
