Job Summary
Semper Flight is looking to hire an A&P Mechanic with good experience in General Aviation Maintenance. Currently our fleet is composed of one Piper Warrior though we are looking to add upwards of 4+ planes in the future. Additional Duties will include flying aerial tours of the historic triangle if already commercially rated. Flying and maintenance duties will be performed on an “As Needed” basis until further expansion. Maximum pay is based on the candidate’s ratings as an A&P Mechanic with IA and CFI. Tool ownership is required and ferry opportunities may exist in the future. Candidates will be required to take standard DOT drug test.
Duties
- Conduct detailed inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on aircraft airframes, engines, avionics, and related systems in compliance with FAA regulations.
- Perform maintenance using appropriate aircraft technical data and/or applicable FAA Publicactions.
- Operate aircraft safely as a pilot during scheduled flights or operational missions, adhering strictly to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and aviation safety protocols.
- Make maintenance recommendations to Operations manager.
- Ensure all work adheres to strict safety standards including electrical safety practices related to avionics and power systems.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an A&P mechanic with extensive knowledge of aircraft systems including airframe structures, powerplants, avionics, electrical systems, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification required; pilot’s license with appropriate ratings highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, calipers, micrometers, ohmmeters, ammeters, and other precision instruments.
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), AS9100 quality standards, and aviation safety protocols.
- Experience working with military-grade equipment or in military aviation environments is advantageous.
- Electrical experience combined with understanding of avionics systems for troubleshooting complex electronic components.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during maintenance procedures.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating across teams and documenting technical work accurately.
