The Loveless Cafe is a Nashville landmark with a long-standing tradition of Southern hospitality. Loveless Events extends that tradition through on-site and off-site catering, offering a sophisticated Southern experience for weddings, corporate gatherings, and community events.
The Loveless Events team is currently seeking a part-time Kitchen Steward / Dishwasher to join our Event Catering Team.
Pay
- Pay Range: $17–$19/hour (DOE)
Position Purpose
The Kitchen Steward / Dishwasher plays an essential role in supporting the Loveless Events culinary team by maintaining clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, prep, and dish areas. This position helps ensure smooth back-of-house operations by supporting food production and maintaining the cleanliness standards expected of the Loveless brand.
Essential Functions
Operations & Cleaning Duties
- Wash, sort, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools.
- Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment safely and effectively while maintaining sanitation standards.
- Sanitize and clean kitchen, prep, dish, and storage areas throughout shifts.
- Sweep and mop kitchen and back-of-house areas as needed.
- Remove trash, recycling, and cardboard throughout shifts and at the end of events.
- Assist with deliveries, kitchen organization, and basic food preparation tasks as assigned.
- Report equipment issues, maintenance concerns, or unsafe conditions to management.
- Assist with cleanup and other duties as needed to support the culinary team.
- Assist with cleaning and sanitation of employee restrooms and other back-of-house areas as assigned.
Teamwork & Communication
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and event staff to ensure seamless operations.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude, even in a fast-paced environment.
- Follow all safety and sanitation standards to maintain a clean and efficient workspace.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, catering, or food service experience preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to work a changing schedule.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
