Summary:
To provide the quality-assurance support to the assigned program and/or area to ensure that the product is built in accordance with customer and division quality requirements while maintaining production flow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review design drawings and changes, operation sheets, process procedures, test procedures, procurement documents, quality manuals, and inspection analyses
- Provides support to his or her assigned operation group including visual aids and inspection analyses
- Serve as “referee” in making “accept” or “reject” decisions.
- Provide support to other departments
- Conduct audits, close out audit findings, and/or create audit findings reports and determine appropriate corrective and preventive actions
- Review quality trends based on quality data system information and interaction with inspectors and production personnel
- Participate in the generation and implementation of defect-reduction programs
- Perform Root Cause analysis and implement corrective action
- Analyze failure, corrective action, and preventive action to respond to customer concerns
- Generate Engineering Change Requests
- Evaluate discrepant hardware determine its disposition or referral to the Material Review Board.
- Interact with representatives from a variety of functional groups as well as within the Quality Assurance Department.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in Material Review Board actions as requested
- Interact with DCAS personnel as well as customer and supplier representatives on quality issues as requested
- May perform source inspections and/or surveys, involving visits to a supplier's facility to evaluate adherence to the company's quality requirements for products or systems.
- May assist the Repair Department in evaluating field returns to identify any failure trends and perform failure analysis
- Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all contacts

Requirements:
- Four-year degree or eight years' inspection or equivalent preferred
- 2+ years as an Associate Quality Engineer, or equivalent
- Previous experience as root cause and corrective action focal
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and some knowledge of chemistry to assist with decisions related to paints, potting, and coating materials and processes.
- Understanding of AS9100 Rev C requirements required; internal auditor preferred
- Proficient in AS9102 completion
- Ability to interpret customers’ quality requirements
- Read, write, and speak English fluently
- Sense of urgency
- Ability to meet frequent short timeline goals and deadlines
Pay: $65,000.00 - $94,000.00 per year
