This is a 2nd shift position (Hours: 3pm-2am; Monday through Thursday).
Position Summary
This position is responsible for troubleshooting and performing truck and/or bus repair jobs within a shop environment.
-
Performs scheduled services and repairs on truck or buses (engines, drivetrain, chassis, electrical systems) in the shop using proper tools and procedures

Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and efficiently; work orders, service reports, allocation of time, and tracking parts
-
Maintain customer satisfaction by ensuring customer needs and deadlines are met
-
Complete all scheduled repairs in a safe and efficient manner
-
Follow all safety and contamination control rules and regulations
-
Adheres to all safety rules and maintains quality housekeeping in work area
-
Maintain company issued equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
-
No formal responsibility for supervising others
Position Requirements
Required:
-
High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
-
3 years or more of mechanical experience with diesel engines and/or in a position with a working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrain repairs
Preferred:
-
5 years or more experience with diesel engines (Caterpillar or Cummins is a plus) and/or in a position with a working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrain repairs

Medium Duty Cummins Engine Certification

Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of power train, diesel engines, and electrical systems

Strong computer skills experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and the ability to learn CAT/MacAllister/Michigan Cat systems

Ability to build and maintain effective customer and professional relationships through strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on relationship-building and consistent demonstration of solid professional judgment

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure, deadline driven environment

Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
