JOB TITLE: Job Coach
This position supports the philosophies, positions, directives, and programs of The Arc of North Carolina by performing these and other duties as assigned by the Regional Director or designee.
Reports To: This position will be under the direct supervision of the Regional Director or designee.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in human services, education, rehabilitation, or related field preferred. Demonstrated experience providing direct employment supports to individuals with I/DD. Working knowledge of Medicaid-funded employment services and EIPD services and Medicaid fee-for-service supported employment funded by NC Employment and Independence for People with Disabilities (EIPD) preferred;. Proficiency with electronic documentation systems and basic computer applications. Valid driver’s license and current automobile liability insurance.

Required Training: Core competencies required by the State of North Carolina and those required by The Arc of North Carolina. Additional training necessary to deliver EIPD and Medicaid and EIPD supported employment services with fidelity.
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)
- Provide intensive, individualized on-the-job supports within competitive, integrated employment settings.
- Deliver job coaching, task analysis, skill instruction, cueing, fading strategies, and workplace accommodations aligned with each individual’s Person-Centered Plan and service authorization.
- Provide Medicaid-funded supported employment services, including job stabilization and long-term follow-along supports.
- Support individuals participating in EIPD-funded supported internships, ensuring alignment with internship goals, learning objectives, and documentation requirements.
- Provide Medicaid-funded supported employment services, including job stabilization and long-term follow-along supports.
- Promote independence, self-determination, and workplace inclusion while balancing productivity, employer expectations, and individual needs.
- Maintain working expertise in both EIPD and Medicaid-funded fee-for-service and EIPD-funded supported employment requirements.
- Accurately complete all required service documentation, progress notes, time records, and billing-related data in a timely manner.
- Ensure services are delivered in compliance with authorization parameters, service definitions, and agency policy.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding service delivery challenges, progress, and risk factors.
- Demonstrate respectful, person-centered interactions with individuals served, families, employers, and team members.
- Exercise sound judgment to maintain safety, dignity, and positive employment outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal team members and external partners as needed to support service continuity (excluding job development activities).
- Represent The Arc of North Carolina in a professional manner within community and workplace settings.
- Deliver services in varied community-based employment settings.
- Work may occur during early mornings, evenings, or weekends depending on individual schedules.
- Perform independent, field-based work with limited direct supervision.
- Attends required training in a timely manner to become privileged as appropriate to the individual position.
