Location: Varying commercial job sites in the Greater Pittsburgh area.
Summary: Full time employee prepares and refinishes surfaces to company standards and customer requirements. Follows safe work practices and procedures while performing various duties. On the job training included.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Prepares the job site, setting up safety equipment.
- Assists in unloading and setting up equipment such as a tools, gang box, ladders and scaffolds.
- Determines stripping processes and coating methods for various surfaces.
- Masks surfaces for refinishing such as doors, windows, elevators, and escalators.
- Cleans and removes scratches from metal surfaces, using abrasives and chemicals.
- Applies protective coatings such as lacquer as required.
- Completes various painting projects which may include similar preparation, applying primer and paint, and using brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
- Assists with training new employees.
- Operates/uses scissor lift, boom lift, scaffolding, and swing stages.
Safety requirements include, but are not limited to the following:
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, and heavier amounts with assistance.
- Able to work in various settings, with exposure to dust and paint from sanding and spraying.
- Wearing of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including gloves, safety glasses, ear protection, and any other PPE as required.
- Employee will follow all safety policies, practices and guidelines and will ensure all safety requirements are met or exceeded at all times.
Basic Qualifications:
- At least 18 years old
- Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
- Valid Driver's License
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in moderately noisy environment, wear a respirator , and use different machinery.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic construction knowledge
- Painting experience
- Light power tools experience
- Spray lacquering experience
