Saint Mary School in Milford is a thriving community of students and families seeking a part-time Art Teacher (20 hours per week) for the 2026–2027 academic year. The ideal candidate will have a passion for art education and a strong desire to create engaging and meaningful learning experiences for students in grades K–8.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities would include creating an engaging learning environment that fosters academic and spiritual growth, develops pre-kindergarten students’ skills and a love of learning. The candidate should be competent at instructing K-Grade 8 students and ensuring their spiritual and academic growth.
Additionally, the candidate must be able to:
Develop and implement daily lesson plans that address spiritual, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
Use diverse instructional techniques such as modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating, and reinforcing.
Encourage children to develop self-help skills and independence.
Adapt curriculum to meet individual learning needs and initiate referrals when necessary.
Promote positive behavior through redirection, positive reinforcement, and adherence to the school’s behavioral policies.
Maintain positive communication with families.
Attend regular staff meetings and participate in annual reviews and professional development.
Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
Assist students who may need additional support.
Years of Successful Teaching: Minimum 2 years as classroom art teacher.
Bachelor's degree.
Minimum of 2 years of classroom experience.
Demonstrated ability to create engaging, age-appropriate art lessons.
Commitment to fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and faith-based environment.
Practicing Catholic in good standing.
