Position Overview
The Latex Line Assistant Manager supports the daily operation of the latex production line, helping ensure production goals are achieved safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards. This position works closely with the Latex Line Manufacturing Manager to supervise employees, coordinate workflow, troubleshoot production issues, maintain accurate records, and promote a clean and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Line Manager with daily production planning, staffing, and workflow coordination.
- Supervise and support production employees throughout the shift.
- Monitor the latex production process to ensure quality, productivity, and safety standards are consistently met.
- Assign employees to workstations and adjust staffing based on production needs.
- Train new employees on equipment operation, production procedures, quality requirements, and safety practices.
- Monitor employee performance and provide coaching and corrective guidance when necessary.
- Inspect materials and finished products for defects or quality issues.
- Identify production problems and work with the appropriate team members to resolve them quickly.
- Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance or repair needs.
- Ensure production equipment is operated correctly and safely.
- Track production output, downtime, waste, and other relevant production metrics.
- Complete required production paperwork and maintain accurate shift records.
- Help manage raw materials and production supplies to prevent unnecessary downtime.
- Enforce company safety policies, including proper use of required personal protective equipment.
- Maintain housekeeping and organization standards throughout the production area.
- Communicate production status, equipment issues, staffing concerns, and priorities during shift handoffs.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing productivity, improving quality, and reducing waste.
- Perform the Line Manager's responsibilities when the Line Manager is unavailable.
- Perform other production and supervisory duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred.
- Previous lead, supervisory, or management experience preferred.
- Ability to operate and understand production equipment and processes.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to train, coach, and motivate production employees.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond effectively to changing production needs.
- Basic computer and production-recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive production-related tasks.
- Ability to lift and move materials as required by the position.
- Ability to work around manufacturing equipment and in varying production-area conditions.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.

Success in this position is measured by safe operations, achievement of production targets, product quality, reduced waste and downtime, accurate documentation, effective employee supervision, and consistent adherence to company procedures.

Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
