We are a busy, multi-provider gastroenterology practice in Mesa, AZ, dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. We are seeking a skilled and dependable Medical Assistant to join our clinical team and support patient care and provider workflow.
Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in assisting providers with patient care, performing clinical tasks, and ensuring accurate documentation within the electronic health record (EHR). The ideal candidate is patient-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Room patients, take vitals, and obtain medical histories
- Assist providers with procedures and examinations
- Administer injections or perform phlebotomy, if certified
- Document patient information accurately in the EHR
- Maintain exam rooms and ensure proper infection control
- Support patient education and follow-up care as directed
- Collaborate with front desk and clinical team to optimize patient flow
Qualifications:
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (required)
- 2-3 years of clinical experience preferred, outpatient or specialty care a plus
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems and medical terminology
- Strong patient communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
