Job Summary
Grace Daycare & Learning Center is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education and enjoys creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment for young children.
The Preschool Assistant Teacher will work closely with the Lead Teacher to support daily classroom activities, implement curriculum plans, encourage children’s development, and maintain a positive classroom environment that meets state licensing requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Support daily classroom routines, including arrival, meals, transitions, nap time, and outdoor activities.
- Engage children through play-based learning experiences, group activities, and individual support.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
- Provide active supervision of children at all times and follow all safety procedures.
- Assist with classroom documentation, including observations, developmental assessments, and daily reports.
- Support children’s individual needs and promote an inclusive classroom environment.
- Follow all daycare policies, state regulations, health and safety guidelines, and licensing requirements.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with children, families, and team members.
- Assist with classroom preparation, learning materials, and activities.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training opportunities.
- Support the Lead Teacher during classroom inspections and daily operations.
Requirements
- Experience working with preschool-age children preferred.
- Knowledge of child development, classroom management, and early learning practices.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Patient, nurturing, and dependable personality.
- Ability to create positive relationships with children and families.
- Understanding of health, safety, and childcare regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, professional childcare environment.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
- CDA credential or willingness to obtain.
- Previous experience as a Preschool Assistant Teacher, Teacher Aide, or childcare professional.
- Familiarity with play-based curriculum and developmental milestones.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
