Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic School Psychologist to join our educational team, committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. In this vital role, you will assess students’ psychological and developmental needs, provide counseling and behavioral support, and collaborate with educators, families, and healthcare professionals to promote student well-being and academic success. Your expertise will help identify learning challenges, develop intervention strategies, and ensure every student receives the tailored support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and psychological testing, to identify students’ learning and behavioral needs.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other specialists to support students with disabilities or developmental delays.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on child & family counseling, social skills development, behavioral health, and crisis intervention.
- Create safety plans and crisis management strategies to address urgent behavioral or emotional issues affecting students’ well-being.
- Collaborate with educators on behavior management techniques and conduct conflict management sessions to foster positive classroom environments.
- Offer early intervention services for students showing signs of developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), utilizing applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, medical records, and detailed reports of assessments, interventions, and progress notes in compliance with legal standards.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid state certification/license as a School Psychologist or equivalent credential.
- Proven experience working with children in educational settings, including special education environments.
- Strong knowledge of psychological testing methods, diagnostic evaluation procedures, and social work principles related to school psychology.
- Familiarity with IEP development, behavior management strategies, crisis management protocols, and safety planning.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
