Job Overview
We are seeking energetic, dependable event and Venue Vendors to join our event operations team.
This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy working with
people, and take pride in delivering great service, often in just seconds.
Vendors may rotate between portable stands, walking vending, and fixed locations
throughout an event.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Sales
- Provide fast, friendly, and professional service
- Interact with guests in high-volume environments
- Process transactions accurately
- Maintain a positive guest experience in short interactions
Operations & Teamwork
- Follow event schedules and operational procedures
- Communicate with supervisors regarding timing and needs
- Maintain assigned service areas
- Support team members as needed
- Adapt to changing assignments and guest volume
Technology
- Operate POS and handheld devices
- Handle cash and electronic payments responsibly
Physical & Job Requirements:
This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to:
General Requirements
- Stand and walk for long periods
- Move quickly through crowded spaces
- Work in indoor and outdoor environments
- Bend, reach, and lift frequently
- Perform well under time pressure
Portable Stand Vendors
- Bend at the waist for extended periods (up to 90% of shift)
- Work with hands in ice water for extended periods
- Lift and carry up to 40 pounds
Walking Vendors
- Carry and transport 3–6 cases of beverages
- Lift and carry up to 40 pounds, including bags of ice
- Navigate stairs, aisles, and ramps safely
- Maintain balance while moving through crowds
Qualifications
- Ability to read and follow instructions
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work quickly and accurately
- Basic comfort with technology
- Willingness to adapt to changing environments
- Must meet minimum age requirements for alcohol service (if applicable)
Schedule & Availability
- Event-based scheduling
- Evenings, weekends, and holidays required
- Shift length varies by event
Compensation:
This position pays an hourly rate of $16.00 - $17.00 per hour, in accordance with New York State minimum wage requirements, plus.
Walking Vendors have the opportunity to earn additional income through:
- Tips received directly from guests
- Commission based on individual sales performance
Total earnings will vary based on event volume and individual sales performance. While additional earnings are not guaranteed, high-performing vendors may earn more than the base hourly rate.
