We are seeking a Robotic Grinding Programmer to support our grinding room operations in a heavy industrial gray and ductile iron foundry environment. This position is responsible for programming, setting up, troubleshooting, and optimizing Foxall robotic grinding and cleaning equipment used in foundry production.
The ideal candidate will have experience with robotic programming in a manufacturing environment and the ability to work closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams to improve safety, consistency, and throughput.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, test, implement, and revise robotic grinding and cleaning programs for Foxall equipment
- Set up robotic grinding and cleaning cells for production runs, including changeovers and adjustments
- Troubleshoot robotic cell, programming, and process issues to restore safe and efficient operation
- Evaluate grinding and cleaning results and make programming or process adjustments as needed
- Improve cycle times, equipment performance, and process flow to increase throughput and consistency
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and related production documents
- Use measuring tools and inspection methods to verify finished castings meet quality standards
- Train operators and technicians on equipment operation, changeovers, troubleshooting, quality expectations, and safe work practices
- Maintain accurate programming, setup, troubleshooting, and process documentation
- Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, housekeeping standards, and operating procedures
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Robotics and Automation, Mechatronics, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience programming and modifying robotic equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with setup, changeovers, troubleshooting, and process improvement
- Ability to read blueprints and production specifications and use measuring tools to verify quality
- Ability to train and support operators and technicians
- Foundry, grinding, machining, metal finishing, or other heavy industrial experience preferred
Schedule
- 2nd Shift: 5:30 PM – 4:00 AM, typically Monday through Thursday
- Friday overtime as needed
