Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents
- Handle various cleaning tasks including vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and sanitation of surfaces to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Manage the safe handling and application of chemical agents in accordance with safety data sheets (SDS) and hotel safety protocols
- Conduct heavy lifting as needed for moving furniture, linens, or cleaning supplies while adhering to manual handling safety procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of floors through proper floor care techniques such as sweeping, mopping, and polishing to uphold aesthetic standards
- Follow hotel emergency procedures promptly and accurately in case of incidents or safety concerns
- Keep detailed records of cleaning activities, supply usage, and maintenance issues for operational efficiency
Experience
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience in a hotel or hospitality setting is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of floor cleaning techniques and equipment operation
- Experience handling chemical agents safely and effectively in a commercial environment
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally with guests and team members
- Familiarity with hotel housekeeping management practices and sanitation standards is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during routine cleaning tasks
- Knowledge of hotel emergency procedures ensures preparedness in urgent situations
