Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide exceptional in-home care for clients requiring assistance with daily activities and medical needs. Duties
- Provide personal care assistance including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support, utilizing patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor and observe patients’ health status by recording vital signs and noting changes in condition using Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as eating, toileting, and medication administration in accordance with medical directives and home healthcare regulations
- Support clients with memory care needs related to Alzheimer’s disease and dementia by implementing specialized techniques for safety and engagement
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations while documenting medical records accurately and securely
- Facilitate communication between clients, family members, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care plans
- Assist with household tasks including meal preparation, light cleaning, laundry, and ensuring a safe living environment
Skills
- Extensive experience working with geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized care such as catheter management or end-of-life support
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication management, vital signs monitoring, CPR, first aid, and basic life support procedures
- Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation and record keeping
- Ability to perform patient transfers safely using methods like patient lifts or Hoyer lifts while maintaining proper body mechanics
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams while maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines
- Familiarity with home health care assistance standards, hospice care protocols, dementia and memory care techniques
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting tasks and extended periods of standing or walking during shifts
- Experience working within home health agencies or providing live-in employment services is highly preferred
Qualifications
- Must have CMT Cretification.
- Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing home settings, or group homes is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient observation, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and CPR/First Aid certification required
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, Alzheimer’s or dementia is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs
- Strong understanding of HIPAA privacy standards and confidentiality protocols
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for others
- Flexibility to work in a live-in setting with adaptable schedules as needed
