Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced CMM Programmer to develop, maintain, and optimize CMM inspection programs in a precision CNC machining environment. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate measurement of complex machined components, supporting production quality, and improving inspection efficiency.
The ideal candidate has strong GD&T knowledge, hands-on CMM programming experience, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain CMM programs for new and existing parts
- Interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T requirements
- Validate first article inspections (FAI) and support PPAP submissions
- Optimize inspection routines for accuracy and efficiency
- Troubleshoot CMM programs and measurement discrepancies
- Support quality engineers with capability studies (Cp/Cpk)
- Ensure inspection documentation meets customer requirements
- Maintain calibration and metrology best practices
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams
Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years CMM programming experience
- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation
- Experience with PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar CMM software
- Experience in CNC machining or metal manufacturing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- ASQ certification (CQE or similar)
- Experience supporting OEM customers
- Experience with automated or offline programming
- Technical degree in Engineering, Metrology, or related field
