Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of mechanical systems related to HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical diagnostics, and building automation systems. Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment (including ammonia refrigeration), and mechanical systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and building automation system diagrams to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to troubleshoot wiring problems and component failures.
- Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure reliable operation and energy efficiency.
- Repair plumbing components associated with HVAC systems and ensure compliance with safety standards such as EPA certifications for refrigerant handling.
- Diagnose mechanical failures in complex systems using mechanical knowledge and welding skills when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, repairs performed, parts used, and system performance logs.
- Collaborate with property management teams to coordinate repairs and upgrades while adhering to safety protocols.
- Utilize building automation systems (BAS) for system monitoring and adjustments to optimize environmental conditions.
- Assist in the design or modification of HVAC systems based on project requirements or client specifications.
- Operate a <PERSON> driver vehicle safely while transporting tools or equipment between job sites.
Qualifications
- Proven construction experience combined with service technician background in HVAC/R or related mechanical fields.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, blueprints, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), plumbing, and mechanical repair techniques.
- Experience working with building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC design principles.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications such as HVAC/R license are highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge including boiler operation, equipment repair, welding skills, and property maintenance experience.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical issues using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Field service experience with a focus on appliance repair or property maintenance is preferred.
- Ability to read technical manuals accurately and follow safety procedures diligently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance and repair tasks.
