Overview
We are looking for a strong litigator who is also a strong manager, teacher, and systems-oriented leader. This pivotal role involves overseeing complex legal cases, guiding our associate attorneys, and ensuring the firm’s litigation strategies align with our commitment to excellence and client advocacy. The ideal candidate will bring a comprehensive understanding of diverse legal areas, exceptional negotiation skills, and a passion for delivering impactful legal solutions. Join us to make a meaningful difference through vigorous advocacy, strategic thinking, and dedicated leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Litigation Leadership
- Supervise our associate litigation attorneys.
- Conduct regular case reviews and strategy meetings.
- Assign matters based on experience, capacity, complexity, and development needs.
- Monitor case progress, deadlines, discovery, hearings, trials, and settlement posture.
- Ensure attorneys comply with firm litigation SOPs, case-management requirements, calendaring procedures, and client-service standards.
- Identify potential case risks before they become emergencies.
- Review significant pleadings, motions, discovery, trial preparation, and litigation strategy as appropriate.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for litigation attorneys.
- Coach attorneys through complex strategic, procedural, and client-management issues.
- Provide candid, timely performance feedback.
- Participate in attorney hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluation.
- Help develop attorneys into increasingly independent litigators and trial lawyers.
Complex Case Management
Maintain a limited personal caseload focused primarily on matters requiring senior-level litigation judgment, including:
- Complex civil and business litigation
- High-stakes family law litigation
- Emergency and injunctive proceedings
- Significant dispositive motions
- Complex discovery disputes
- Depositions of key witnesses or experts
- Mediation and settlement strategy
- Bench and jury trials
The Litigation Manager should generally not become the default attorney for routine matters that can appropriately be handled by other attorneys on the team.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate:
- Has substantial hands-on litigation experience.
- Has independently managed cases from inception through resolution.
- Is comfortable first-chairing significant hearings and trials.
- Demonstrates excellent litigation judgment.
- Writes clearly, strategically, and persuasively.
- Can review another attorney's work and provide useful, actionable feedback.
- Enjoys mentoring and developing less-experienced attorneys.
- Can hold attorneys accountable without micromanaging.
- Is comfortable making decisions and exercising delegated authority.
- Works well within established systems, policies, and SOPs.
- Embraces technology and modern legal practice.
- Is comfortable learning and regularly using practice-management, litigation-management, AI-assisted legal research, document-management, and other legal technology platforms.
- Understands that excellent legal work includes strong file management, communication, documentation, deadline management, and operational discipline.
- Is collaborative, emotionally intelligent, direct, and solution-oriented.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active Georgia Bar membership in good standing.
- Approximately 8+ years of meaningful litigation experience preferred.
- Significant experience handling contested litigation matters.
- Demonstrated deposition, hearing, mediation, and trial experience.
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Prior experience supervising attorneys, mentoring lawyers, managing litigation teams, or serving in a meaningful leadership capacity strongly preferred.
- Strong proficiency with technology and willingness to adopt firm systems and workflows.
- Ability to work effectively in a primarily virtual environment.

Our Environment
Davis Law Group Trial Attorneys is a growing litigation firm serving clients in sophisticated civil, business, and family law disputes.
We are building a litigation department in which attorneys are expected to combine strong advocacy with exceptional organization, responsiveness, technology adoption, and accountability.
This position is an opportunity to help shape that department.
As the firm grows, we anticipate developing multiple litigation teams led by Litigation Managers, creating additional opportunities for senior leadership and advancement.
Who Will Thrive Here
This may be a strong fit if you enjoy being the attorney other lawyers come to for guidance, but you do not want your entire value measured by how many hours you personally bill.
You should enjoy developing people, building systems, solving problems, making decisions, and helping a team produce consistently excellent legal work.
This position will likely not be a good fit for an attorney who prefers to work independently without meaningful oversight, dislikes standardized workflows, resists legal technology, or views management responsibilities as secondary to maintaining a large personal caseload.
