Seeking General Manager-The Hotels at Fagers Island located in Ocean City, MD
The General Manager is a full-time, on-site role located in Ocean City, MD, responsible for overseeing daily hotel operations for 2 boutique hotels and ensuring a high-quality guest experience. This role manages front-of-house and back-of-house teams, including scheduling, staffing, training, and performance management. The General Manager monitors financial performance, including budgets, cost control, and revenue targets, and ensures compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards. Day-to-day tasks include supervising service, addressing guest feedback, coordinating with suppliers, maintaining inventory, and implementing operational improvements. This is a hands-on position that requires occasional front desk shifts, assisting with laundry and occasionally cleaning rooms. The General Manager also collaborates with ownership and leadership to execute business plans, uphold brand standards, and foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture. A pleasant demeanor coupled with a firm directive for adherence to our handbook rules and standards is critical.
Qualifications
- Experience in hospitality management, including day-to-day operations, team leadership, and guest satisfaction.
- Strong skills in budgeting, cost control, and basic financial reporting to support business performance.
- Knowledge of health regulations, and workplace safety practices within a hotel environment.
- Effective communication, conflict resolution, and coaching skills to lead diverse teams and support staff development.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting, with strong organization and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort with using point-of-sale systems and basic office software for scheduling, reporting, and inventory tracking.
- Prior experience in a waterfront or high-volume hotel setting is beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in hospitality, business, or related fields is a plus.
Full-time, year round seasonal business, salary commensurate with experience.
