Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with occasional evening shifts from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Rotating Saturdays are required, with an offset day provided when working a Saturday. This is a hybrid position: two days in the office and three days working from home.

Job description: Indirect Underwriter
Purpose: Performs a variety of duties in the Indirect Loan department, including approving and disapproving auto loan requests within the limits prescribed by policy and procedure. Actively promotes a work environment within the Indirect Lending department that consistently delivers superior service related to the lending and collection functions of the department.
Job-Specific Functions
Performs functions related to credit granting, including interviewing applicants, accepting loan applications, making credit granting decisions, performing credit analysis, reviewing and analyzing loan applications, loading loan applications on the computer system, loan closings, and similar duties. Completes loan contracts, forms, and other documentation clearly and accurately.
- Communicates effectively with dealers, members, and others outside the Credit Union, and provides accurate information on financial matters concerning loans, savings and investment programs, and all other services and products provided by the Credit Union.
- Maintains acceptable levels of loan volume, loan delinquency.
- Maintains positive, productive relationship with automobile and boat dealers and any other agencies and organization associated with indirect lending.
- Cross-sells Credit Union services to members by recognizing member wants and needs and suggesting products and services to meet those wants and needs. Maintains knowledge of all Credit Union services in order to cross-sell services.
- Assists members, in person or via telephone conversation, with questions or problems related to their Credit Union accounts and represents the Credit Union to members in a courteous, professional manner.
- Learns and maintains knowledge of the Credit Union’s computer system, loan processing programs, audio response systems, credit bureau systems, and related office equipment. Performs computer transactions promptly, efficiently, and accurately.
- Collects delinquent accounts as assigned.
- Assists in conducting audits to insure loan policies and procedures are followed.
- Performs quality assurance audits, as assigned.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and productive work environment within the department.
- Collects delinquent accounts, as assigned.
- Assists and supports other work areas within the Loan Department, as needed.
- Trains department employees and assists supervisors in monitoring quality of service, and regulatory & department compliance. Recommends ways to improve department performance in these areas.
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships with other departments within the Credit Union.

Job Qualifications
- Must have thorough knowledge of auto lending practices common to dealerships.
- Working knowledge of the credit union's products and services.
- Working knowledge of organization's policies/procedures and credit union's service philosophy.
- Working knowledge of safety and security program for false alarms, robberies, bomb threats and extortion.
- Knowledge of regulations specific to Credit Union operations, including Regulation E, Regulation CC, Regulation D, Regulation DD, Regulation J, Regulation GG, Federal Reserve Bank rules and procedures, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA/AML/& OFAC), CIP, FACTA, Regulation Z (Privilege Pay), Regulation B, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices, laws governing use of negotiable instrument, laws governing notary publics, operating rules and regulations of Internal Revenue Service, the Federal Reserve Bank as they relate to member accounts and other related statutes.
