Job Summary for Certified Ophthalmic Technician
Winston Staffing has a part time, temporary assignment available for an Certified Ophthalmic Technician in a clinic in the Bronx. Hours are 8 AM to 4:30 PM Thursdays and Fridays.
Responsibilities for Certified Ophthalmic Technician
- Conduct ophthalmic patient examinations, including measuring vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and visual acuity assessments.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures such as tonometry (measuring intraocular pressure), A-scan biometry, and ophthalmic imaging to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Operate and clean medical equipment safely and effectively, ensuring proper calibration and maintenance.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, taking detailed intake information, and ensuring comfort throughout the visit.
- Support ophthalmologists during clinical procedures while adhering to aseptic techniques to prevent infection.
- Provide exceptional patient service through effective communication, empathy, and professionalism.
- Assist with inventory management of ophthalmic supplies and medical equipment.
Experience and Requirements for Certified Ophthalmic Technician
- Certification - COA
- 2 years or more experience
- Scribing a plus
