Server – Evanston Corner Bistro

Evanston Corner Bistro is launching an elevated new menu, and we're looking for experienced, hospitality-driven Servers to help bring it to life. This is an opportunity to join a high-performing floor team at a neighborhood destination known for quality food, thoughtful service, and a strong wine program.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide guests through an elevated menu with confident, accurate descriptions and thoughtful pairing suggestions
- Provide knowledgeable wine service, from recommendations to proper presentation and pour
- Deliver warm, attentive, and detail-oriented service from greeting through farewell
- Anticipate guest needs—table maintenance, pacing, and dietary accommodations—without being asked
- Use genuine, creative upselling to enhance the guest experience and support sales
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked section throughout service
- Complete opening and closing side work efficiently and support fellow team members as needed
- Communicate effectively with management, kitchen, and front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service
Qualifications
- 1+ years of serving experience in a high-volume restaurant required
- Strong working knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer; comfort guiding guests through a wine list
- Experience with Toast preferred
- Food Handler's, Allergen, and BASSET certifications within 30 days of employment
- Open availability, including mornings and weekends
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds
- Polished, professional presence and excellent verbal communication
