Loading SupervisorPosition Summary
The Loading Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing all outbound loading operations within a fast-paced, high-volume distribution center operating in a 24/7 environment. This position ensures the safe, accurate, and efficient loading of products while maintaining productivity, quality, food safety, and inventory accuracy standards. The Loading Supervisor provides direct leadership to warehouse associates and team leads, ensuring operational goals are achieved while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Essential Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily loading operations to ensure all outbound shipments are loaded accurately and on schedule.
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse associates and team leads to achieve productivity, safety, and quality objectives.
- Monitor workflow and labor utilization to ensure efficient staffing and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies, GMPs, food safety standards, and company procedures.
- Verify outbound loads for accuracy, proper product handling, and shipment integrity.
- Collaborate with Inventory, Transportation, Receiving, and Operations teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain service levels.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, loading accuracy, safety, and attendance.
- Conduct shift meetings, performance coaching, and corrective actions as needed.
- Support workforce planning, scheduling, training, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready work environment.
- Assist with special projects and other operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3+ years of warehouse, distribution, logistics, or loading supervision experience.
- Experience leading teams in a high-volume distribution center environment.
- Strong knowledge of shipping, loading, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
- Experience utilizing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), RF scanners, and productivity tracking tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and operational reporting.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures and conditions.
- Ability to safely operate or work around material handling equipment.
Work Environment
- 24/7 distribution center operation requiring flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as business needs dictate.
- Peak season support may require extended hours and additional schedule flexibility.
