SUMMARY: This position is responsible for supervision and support of team members to ensure plant processes are followed to attain safety, quality and production goals. Identifies problems or bottlenecks in production processes and resolves issues. Ensures production resources including materials, equipment and human resources are available as needed to achieve production schedules. Supports continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost and customer service. Supervises production operations according to established priorities and schedules.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate within effective standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support employee and food safety, product quality, asset effectiveness, and workplace organization.
- Provide employee coaching, mentoring and training to ensure that employees are performing job responsibilities effectively.
- Redzone Quality and Productivity software. Redzone is to be monitored and measured as these are the metrics that measures our performance.
- Maintain and enforce GMP standards for SQF.
- Provide leadership for assigned production personnel to achieve their specific goals and objectives via continuous process improvement through our 5 Core Values. Integrity, Team, Quality, Growth, Community
- Ensure employee engagement and development to maximize safety, quality, and productivity, ensuring all quality standards, specifications and policies are met or exceeded.
- Assure regulatory compliance including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, USDA, FDA, FLSA, EEO, OFCCP and NLRB.
- Interact effectively to foster teamwork while encouraging and empowering others. Harness resultant energy, enthusiasm, and excitement of others to achieve organizational goals.
- Evaluate subordinate performance, communicate with employees, and provide information for work performance improvement.
- Attend production and shift review meetings.
- Ensure all daily manufacturing documents are completed and accurate.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent manufacturing experience in a food manufacturing environment required.
Experience: Food or pharmaceutical manufacturing experience preferred.
Skills:
- Good mechanical aptitude to operate and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to coordinate 1st & 2nd shift production with a strong work ethic and proven leadership skills.
- A self-motivated individual that is able to coach, mentor, and train others.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving, organizational, and follow through skills.
- Strong PC skills with MS office programs.
RELATIONSHIPS:
- Reports to the Operations Manager.
- Works closely with operations, quality, maintenance, warehouse, sanitation, and human resources.
- Supervises assigned production personnel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, stretch, stoop, bend, and use hands and fingers. This position requires the employee to be able to read, write, and communicate orally in English. In addition the employee must be able to hear and have color vision.
