Position Summary:
Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Gastroenterologist to join our growing team. The physician will provide comprehensive care for patients with digestive and liver disorders, including diagnostic evaluation, medical management, and endoscopic procedures. The ideal candidate will demonstrate clinical excellence, a patient-centered approach, and a commitment to advancing gastrointestinal care in a community-focused setting.
Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose and manage a broad range of gastrointestinal disorders, including but not limited to:

GERD, IBD, IBS, liver disease, pancreatitis, and gastrointestinal bleeding

Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including:

Upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, and other advanced endoscopic interventions

Collaborate with primary care physicians, surgeons, and other specialists to coordinate patient care

Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, and hospital committees

Educate patients and the community on digestive health and preventive care

Mentor and teach medical students and clinical staff as applicable
Work Schedule:

Full-time schedule, primarily Monday–Friday

On-call coverage as required, with hospital-supported call structure

Qualifications:

MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school

Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology

Active, unrestricted PA medical license or eligibility for licensure

Current DEA registration
-
Proven experience in clinical gastroenterology and endoscopic procedures

Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills

Commitment to patient-centered care in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment
