The Boathouse is looking for a skilled Bar Manager to join our team. The right person should be passionate about hospitality and great food and beverage done right! The Boathouse, a part of the Bean Restaurant Group family of restaurants, is one of the premier dining destinations on the Connecticut River. Compensation Band: This position earns $25 an hour.
Primary duties include but are not limited to:
Financially responsible for running a profitable bar program includes sales, costs, and inventory management
Work with beverage director to create a beverage program that is accessible to the guest and maintains BRG core vision.
Create monthly drink menus and promotions
Build a strong team that puts hospitality first, provides excellent customer service and build a loyal bar guest base
Effectively train staff to follow recipes & guidelines including develop & educating staff on salesmanship and product knowledge in order to drive sales
Responsible for all aspects of ordering and inventory - maintaining par levels set by the company
Keep the bar area clean, organized and well-stocked
Constantly re-evaluate systems and procedures and make constructive suggestions for progress
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and liquor regulations
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to customers in a timely and professional manner
Operate cash registers and handle money transactions accurately
Stock and restock bar supplies as needed
Assist the general manager and assistant general manager with open & closing duties for the restaurant

QUALIFICATIONS
Two years bartender experience preferred, but we will train the right restaurant candidate who shows a willingness to learn in a collaborative environment
Passion for all things bar related
A team player with a hospitality first mentality and a keen willingness to learn
Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
Ability to stand, walk and lift heavy items for extended periods of time
