Black Gold Farms is seeking a proactive and skilled Pack Shed Maintenance Technician at our Packing Facility in Delhi, LA. The Maintenance Technician position is critical on our farm and is essential in helping the operation be successful. This role requires someone with a positive, can-do attitude, and good communication and people skills. The position will create efficiencies through proper planning, service, repair and maintenance of equipment including management of control of parts, supplies, and timing. The individual will communicate between the Ops Support Team, the Pack Shed, and the Farm Team with regard to equipment issues. This role is essential to maintaining seamless operations, supporting production, optimizing machinery performance, minimizing downtime, and fostering a safe, clean, efficient, and proactive work environment. Key responsibilities of the position include:
- Overall condition and proper operation of the equipment at the Pack Shed.
- Manage the maintenance and repairs performed to all Pack Shed equipment. Schedule and determine needs for repairs.
- Perform general maintenance and repairs across production equipment
- Maintain and track preventative maintenance (PM) programs and logs
- Assist in preseason planning of equipment needs
- Oversee incoming equipment condition and set-up, and departing equipment condition and disassembly necessary
- Communicate equipment deficiencies and downtime needs to lead employees and supervisors
- Assist with keeping equipment inventories accurate
- Ensure adequate inventory is maintained on site for day-to-day operations
- Assist in other areas to promote cross-training and teamwork
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Ensure shop area, equipment, and parts room remain Tour Ready at all times
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and experience:
- Strong leadership skills to guide maintenance team effectively
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience with Microsoft Office products, online inventory management, and maintenance scheduling
- Welding (Fabrication)
- Basic electrical troubleshooting and repair skills (low and high voltage)
- Packing machinery troubleshooting and repair skills
- Knowledge and experience in PLCs
- Basic understanding of liquid conveyance (pumps, piping, valves)

Pay: $57,000-$63,000 (dependent on experience)
