Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, and mobility, to promote independence and well-being
- Implement treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, ensuring adherence to prescribed goals and protocols
- Support pediatric occupational therapy interventions for children with developmental delays or autism spectrum disorder, utilizing specialized techniques
- Facilitate patient care activities such as manual handling, patient transport, and positioning to ensure safety and comfort
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals—including physicians, physical therapists, and caregivers—to coordinate comprehensive care strategies
- Maintain accurate care documentation, progress notes, and treatment records in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Assist with medical imaging procedures when necessary and understand relevant medical terminology to support clinical workflows
- Contribute to care plans by providing insights on patient progress and adapting interventions as needed for inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facility, or home health settings
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program
- Proven experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, geriatrics, or pediatric conditions such as childhood developmental delays and autism spectrum disorder
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to occupational therapy practices
- Experience in acute care, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics or home health environments is highly desirable
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and caregivers to explain treatment procedures and progress
- Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation standards within healthcare settings
- Skilled in manual handling techniques and patient transport safety protocols
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic patient care

Pay: $35.00 - $44.00 per hour
