Why does the job exist?
This position will provide administrative management and clinical supervision to regionally based county managers and placement supervisors, responsible for provision of child protective services, permanency planning services, foster parent recruitment and licensing, adoptive parent recruitment and licensing in the Metro Region of the state.
How does it get done?
Provide effective administrative and clinical management/supervision to assigned County Office Managers and Regional Placement staff in the region. The outcome of this assignment is to ensure that these offices adhere to applicable federal and state law, department policies and procedures, and to ensure that these offices and employees support the mission and vision of the Children, Youth and Families Department.
Conduct quality assurance and performance improvement activities and monitor offices to support good practice and family centered services.
Use community partnerships to support the provisions of family centered services to those families requiring protective services. Function in a leadership role and conduct other duties as assigned to achieve agency mission.
Minimum Qualification
Master's Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of experience in the management and direct provision of child welfare services, policy and procedure writing, and program research and development. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and direct experience in child welfare totaling eleven (11) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting: late hours, weekends, on-call and callback work may be required. Will be exposed to regular periods of video display terminal and keyboard usage and stressful situations. Travel is required. Possible exposure to irate clientele. Incumbent will work under stress and frequent time constraints.
