Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Critical Care Unit Registered Nurse (CCU RN) to provide exceptional patient care in Iowa. The ideal candidate will possess extensive critical care experience, demonstrating expertise in managing complex cases within a fast-paced hospital environment. As a Travel CCU RN, you will deliver comprehensive nursing services to critically ill patients, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal recovery outcomes. - Provide advanced nursing care to critically ill patients in the CCU, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing ventilators.
- Perform detailed patient assessments and develop individualized care plans aligned with physician orders and best practices.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient information and medical records.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, respiratory therapists, and specialists in trauma medicine, infectious disease care, and acute pain management.
- Execute procedures such as IV infusion, suturing, catheterization, and specimen collection with precision and adherence to aseptic technique.
- Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans, medication administration, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols while delivering safe, compassionate nursing care.
- Adapt quickly to varied healthcare environments including Level I Trauma Centers, emergency rooms, ICU units, and post-acute care settings.
Requirements
- Valid RN license
- Must have a minimum of 1 recent year CCU experience and 2 years' experience as a RN
- Willingness to work in the ICU Unit/ICU Flex Pool
- Certification in RN Critical Care
