Positions Location: Ionia, MI
General Purpose of Job:
Decontaminates, cleans, sterilizes and distributes supplies throughout hospital.
Essential Duties:
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
- Decontaminating, cleaning, packaging, and sterilizing instruments throughout hospital.
- Collecting, cleaning and distributing equipment from all patient care areas.
- Maintains appropriate documentation for all sterile reprocessing.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- Maintains accurate level of supplies and equipment at all times.
- Maintains standards by participating in in-services, committees, etc.
- Functions as preceptor to new associates and students.
- Maintains knowledge of current sterilization standards.
General Requirements
• BLS Certification • Sterile Supply Tech Certification
Work Experience
Minimum of 1 year of experience.
Education
High School Diploma or GED
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
• Interpersonal skills to effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, families, physicians and other hospital Associates. • Basic computer skills to include word processing, databases, EMR, and e-mail.
