About the Role
Studex Corporation, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and Excel-based analysis. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting fundamentals, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices accurately and timely
- Verify invoice approvals and supporting documentation
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain vendor records and payment files
Accounts Receivable
- Generate customer invoices and monitor collections
- Post customer payments and reconcile customer accounts
- Assist with collection efforts and account inquiries
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies
General Accounting
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
- Support the preparation of internal financial statements and reports
- Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation
- Assist with audits and accounting projects as assigned
Reporting & Excel Analysis
- Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets, reports, and schedules
- Analyze financial data and identify trends or discrepancies
- Support management reporting and month-end reporting packages
- Utilize formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and other Excel tools to improve reporting efficiency
Manufacturing Support
- Assist with inventory reconciliations and inventory-related accounting activities
- Support costing and operational reporting as needed
- Coordinate with operations, purchasing, and production teams to ensure accurate financial records
Qualifications
Required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
- Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
- Experience assisting with financial statement preparation
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
- Manufacturing industry experience
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Epicor, NetSuite, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
- Experience with inventory accounting or cost accounting
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and reporting tools
90-Day Introductory Period
This position includes a 90-day introductory period. During this time, performance, attendance, technical skills, accuracy, teamwork, and overall job proficiency will be evaluated. Following successful completion of the introductory period, employees become eligible for company-sponsored health benefits and may be considered for a compensation review based on performance and business needs.
