ColtRx is seeking an experienced detail-oriented, full-time Data Entry Technician to join our long-term care (LTC) pharmacy team. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely entry of resident/patient prescription orders, verification of insurance information, and processing of third-party billing claims to support efficient medication delivery to skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other LTC partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately enter new prescription orders, refills, and physician order changes into the pharmacy operating system (e.g., Framework LTC, PrimeRx, or similar pharmacy management platforms)
- Utilize and navigate facility-side and eMAR/EHR platforms such as QuickMAR, PointClickCare, and Eldermark to reconcile orders, verify census/facility data, and confirm medication administration records
- Interpret physician orders, faxes, and electronic prescriptions, resolving discrepancies with nursing facilities or prescribers as needed
- Verify and update resident demographic, facility, and insurance information for accuracy
- Process insurance billing and adjudicate claims through Medicare Part D, Medicaid, and private third-party payers
- Identify and resolve claim rejections (e.g., prior authorization, non-formulary, coverage issues, NCPDP rejection codes) in a timely manner
- Coordinate with billing/insurance specialists to resubmit claims, process overrides, and confirm reimbursement accuracy
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, state and federal pharmacy regulations, and facility-specific protocols
- Communicate with facility nursing staff, prescribers, and internal pharmacy departments to ensure timely order fulfillment
- Support cycle fill, emergency order, and STAT order processing as needed
- Maintain organized, accurate records of orders, billing activity, and communications
- Meet productivity and accuracy benchmarks for data entry and claims processing
Required:
- Must be currently registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy, in good standing and compliant with all applicable PA pharmacy technician regulations
- 1+ year of data entry pharmacy technician experience, preferably in long-term care, closed-door, or high-volume institutional pharmacy setting
