Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented IT Technician for a contract/temporary opportunity supporting election operations in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This role is ideal for a technical professional with 3-5 years of experience who enjoys hands-on IT support, hardware setup, troubleshooting, data accuracy, and working in a structured, mission-critical public sector environment.
As an IT Technician, you will help ensure election technology, computer equipment, systems, and related devices are prepared, tested, deployed, and supported according to established procedures and security requirements. This is a great opportunity to contribute to important community operations while working with a professional team focused on accuracy, reliability, confidentiality, and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for election-related hardware, software, systems, and end-user devices.
- Assist with setup, configuration, testing, deployment, installation, and relocation of IT equipment and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues, monitor system functionality, and report unresolved issues to supervisory staff.
- Support data entry, data verification, system setup, documentation, and technical support activity tracking.
- Follow established procedures for system access, data security, confidentiality, chain-of-custody, and equipment handling.
- Perform routine checks to confirm equipment functionality and operational readiness before and during election activities.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay rate: $22.00 per hour.
- Job type: Contract/Temporary.
- Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL.
- Schedule may include assigned shifts, extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required during the election cycle.
- Candidates must successfully complete required background screening and drug screening before the start date.
