This position will be located at the Missouri Geological Survey, 111 Fairgrounds Road, Rolla, MO 65401. Regular work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The Well Installation Section oversees Missouri’s well installation requirements and permitting. Our mission is to build trust and maintain strong relationships with both Missouri’s well owners and all applicable industries. Our goal of protecting Missouri’s groundwater is accomplished by applying sound geologic science and prudent well construction practices.
Responsibilities - What you’ll do
- Data entry for all certification /registration well reports.
- Process credit card transactions, collection of revenue, assess penalty fees and process overpayments
- Prepare bank deposits daily
- Communicate daily with the public and well drilling industry, including responding to and directing various phone calls and emails to team members.
- Maintain monthly production tracking spreadsheet
- Prepare mailings for section staff
- Attend professional development classes when requested
Qualifications - All you need for success
To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills:
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Experience using office equipment including computers, scanners and printers
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and web-based meeting platforms such as Cisco Webex, Zoom and Microsoft Teams
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to type 40 wpm with minimal errors
Equivalent to those typically gained by:
- At least 1 year of administrative support in an office setting, data entry, and customer service experience
