Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote early literacy, social-emotional skills, motor development, and basic math concepts tailored for one-year-olds
- Create a nurturing environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and positive behavior management strategies
- Engage children in activities that support their physical development, including movement exercises and sensory play
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns, fostering strong partnerships
- Maintain detailed documentation of each child's developmental progress in accordance with child welfare and mandated reporting laws
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent classroom management and effective lesson planning aligned with early childhood education standards
- Ensure safety protocols are followed diligently; maintain first aid and CPR certifications to respond promptly to emergencies.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with young children in daycare or preschool is required
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in early childhood education
- Experience developing curriculum content that integrates literacy education, physical education, and basic math skills for toddlers
- Proven ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a positive learning environment
- Strong communication skills to engage with parents, colleagues, and community resources effectively
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in special education or early intervention are advantageous
- Completed 45 DCF hours
