Join White House Clinics’ next Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program! Our “learn while you earn” program creates a pathway for employment directly into a healthcare career. This academic program is a paid apprenticeship, so participants are paid to attend and complete coursework. Upon completion of the program, apprentices will sit for the national certification exam to earn the credentials of CCMA – Clinical Certified Medical Assistant.
PROGRAM DETAILS

A 20-week part-time training combining classroom work, clinical skill labs, and externship hours in a clinical setting.
- Participants are paid during the 20-week apprenticeship (20 hours/week). All tuition and exam costs are covered by White House Clinics. Laptop provided.

In-person instruction occurs Monday – Friday.
- Upon training completion, participants will sit for the national certification exam.

Following certification, participants will join the White House Clinics team, working full time as a Certified Medical Assistant.
Our multi-disciplinary care teams incorporate the expertise of medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and care navigation professionals to provide patients with comprehensive care designed to help them achieve their health goals. While our work is fast paced, our teams enjoy being able to work collaboratively to support patients. As frontline caregivers, Medical Assistants partner with clinical professionals to deliver vitally important patient care.
PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITIES

Attend class through the week in a classroom setting. Class consists of in-person and online course work, as well as weekly skills lab assignments and training.

Actively engage in classroom trainings, participate in skill building lab sessions to develop and enhance clinical skills.
- Complete shadowing and training in a medical clinical setting to build skills and experience patient care workflows.
- Complete all assigned coursework by deadlines outlined in syllabus. Failure to complete coursework may result in expulsion from the program.
- In-person attendance is required; excessive absenteeism will impede the ability to successfully complete coursework and may impact the participants ability to successfully complete the program.

Sign a 2-year work agreement to serve as a Medical Assistant on a White House Clinics care team upon successful completion of the course and satisfactory score on the CCMA exam.
- Follow credentialing guidelines regarding scope of work and practice throughout the apprenticeship program.
- Complete EHR training and coursework relative to clinical courses.
