Overview
The Apprenticeship Program Support Intern will play an important supporting role within IRWA’s Apprenticeship Program, helping ensure Idaho’s next generation of utility professionals receives high-quality instruction and learning support. This position provides valuable exposure to workforce development, technical training, and nonprofit program operations, while building practical experience in education administration, technology coordination, and professional communication.
Key Responsibilities
Apprenticeship Program Support
· Assist with coordination of IRWA’s Apprenticeship Program, including communication with apprentices, mentors, and instructors.
· Set up and manage online class sessions, including Google Classroom, Teams or other learning platforms, and provide basic tech support for instructors and participants.
· Record and log each class session into IRWA’s internal tracking system.
· Assign and track make-up work for apprentices who miss class sessions; follow up on completion status and report progress to program staff.
· Enter Related Technical Instruction (RTI) hours accurately into the apprenticeship tracking software.
· Maintain organized digital records of class attendance, communications, and assignments.
· Assist with scheduling and sending class reminders, updates, and follow-up communications to apprentices and mentors.
Technology & Communication
· Prepare and distribute weekly email reminders and updates for apprentices and mentors.
· Support instructors in resolving technical issues during live or virtual classes.
· Ensure all recorded sessions are properly labeled, archived, and accessible to staff and participants.
· Assist in maintaining current information on IRWA’s apprenticeship program pages or online portals.
· Assist with basic invoicing for the apprenticeship program
· Help with the creation of lecture videos and class curriculum
General Administrative Support
· Collaborate with apprenticeship program team to improve tracking and reporting processes.
· Aid with annual IRWA conference preparation and other association events as needed.
· Provide support during in-person training sessions or workshops.
· Perform additional tasks and other duties as assigned that support the Apprenticeship Program or IRWA’s overall mission.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
· Current college student pursuing a degree in Education, Business, Communications, Environmental Science, or related field.
· Experience or coursework in online learning platforms, communications, or administrative support preferred.
Skills & Abilities
· Strong attention to detail and organization.
· Comfortable with technology, including video conferencing platforms (Google Classroom, Zoom, Teams), Microsoft Office, and shared file systems.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
· Dependable, self-motivated, and willing to take initiative while working in a team environment.

Employment Details
This internship is a part-time, hourly position based at IRWA’s Boise office.
Preferred Schedule: Tuesday through Friday, 12:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (18 hours per week).
Compensation: $16.00 – $19.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Employment Term: Position runs from start date through the end of April 2027, coinciding with the conclusion of the spring semester.
This position offers a supportive learning environment and flexible scheduling during the academic year, with potential for additional hours during school breaks.
