Household Manager (Part-Time)
We are a busy professional family in Austin with two young children seeking a highly organized, proactive Household Manager help our household run smoothly.
This role combines household management, organization and potentially some meal prep and occasional childcare support. We are looking for someone who is highly organized (and enjoys organizing!), takes real ownership, notices what needs to be done without being asked, and enjoys helping create calm and structure in a busy home.
Schedule
- Approximately 15-20 hours per week
- Flexible scheduling for the right person
- Ideally spread across 2-3 days per week
Responsibilities
Household Management
- Household organization and tidying
- Ironing and steaming (occasional laundry)
- Managing household supplies, groceries, kitchen inventory and household to-do lists and calendar
- Helping track and coordinate recurring household tasks
- Package management and returns
- Overseeing and coordinating service providers and vendors
- Helping identify household inefficiencies and proactively solve problems
- Seasonal organization projects
- Occasional bespoke cleaning projects
- Errands and general household support
- Occasional meal prep assistance
Occasional Childcare Support
- Occasional assistance with children when helpful (although the family has a full-time nanny and this is not primarily a nanny role)
- Helping create a calm and organized family environment
Ideal Candidate
- Spanish proficiency strongly preferred
- Extremely organized and dependable
- High ownership mentality
- Self-directed and proactive
- Enjoys cooking healthy food
- Comfortable managing many moving pieces independently
- Warm, calm, and professional demeanor
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Comfortable using shared to-do lists and household systems/apps
- Prior experience in household management, family assistant work, hospitality, meal prep, executive assistant work, or similar roles preferred
Compensation
- Competitive hourly compensation based on experience
