Job Summary:
The Sr. Manager of Design and Engineering at Wecom Fiber is responsible for managing the day to day operations of design and engineering. This strategic position involves managing a team of CAD drafters, GIS specialists, and design professionals to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality design solutions in the telecommunications industry. The Sr. Manager will oversee the tracking of specific construction projects, renderings of maps, and design implementations to drive technical excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of CAD drafters, GIS specialists, and design professionals, providing guidance, direction, and support for project execution.
- Manage the design, development, and implementation of engineering projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, operations, and field personnel, to align design and engineering efforts with business objectives.
- Manage the tracking of specific construction projects, ensuring accurate and timely updates on project progress, milestones, and deliverables.
- Assist with the creation of renderings, maps, and design documentation to support project planning, implementation, and communication.
- Review design concepts, technical drawings, and engineering plans to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and specifications.
- Provide technical expertise, troubleshooting support, and problem-solving guidance to resolve complex design and engineering challenges.
- Manage and optimize the performance of the design and engineering team, conducting performance evaluations, setting goals, and providing feedback.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, teamwork, and technical excellence within the design and engineering department.
- Manage resources, and continuous learning opportunities to support the professional growth and development of team members.
- Ensure continuous improvement in design and engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Manage relationships vendors, partners, and external stakeholders to source technologies, tools, and resources to support design and engineering initiatives.
- Implement and optimize design and engineering systems, software, and tools to streamline processes and enhance project outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Engineering or Business Administration
- Proven experience in a leadership role overseeing design and engineering teams, with a focus on CAD drafting, GIS mapping, and design implementation.
- Strong technical expertise in design and engineering principles, including CAD software, GIS applications, and project management.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders, technical teams, and senior management effectively.
- Strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a results-driven approach to design and engineering projects.
- Proficiency in design and engineering software, tools, and technologies relevant to the telecommunications industry.
- Experience in driving technical excellence, innovation, and quality control in design and engineering processes.
