American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Surgery Trauma unit position at a Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience and Epic proficiency.

Work setting is a high-acuity Surgery Trauma unit (6B) within an inner-city Level 1 trauma center

Patient population includes surgical, gunshot wound, quadriplegic, and paraplegic cases
-
Patient ratio is 5:1
-
Support staff includes nursing techs, phlebotomists, and a unit secretary at night
-
ED nurses and admitting unit staff complete a nurse handoff upon patient admission
-
Schedule consists of 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts per week

Block scheduling is not available — candidates must be flexible with assigned shifts
-
Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month

Epic EMR experience is required

No on-call requirements

Active RN license — GA state license or Compact license required

Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred

Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Med/Surg or Surgery Trauma specialty

Experience in high-acuity, high-volume trauma environments required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered

Proficiency with Epic EMR required

This facility is a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center managing complex, high-volume, and severe trauma cases

Candidates must demonstrate a background in managing critical, fast-paced situations in large-scale trauma environments

No RTO (requested time off) will be approved for this assignment
