Casa Arena Healthcare is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented MDS Nurse (RN or LPN) to coordinate and manage the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process in accordance with federal and state regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, PDPM, care planning, and regulatory compliance within a skilled nursing environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and complete MDS assessments accurately and within required timeframes.
- Ensure compliance with CMS regulations, RAI guidelines, and facility policies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update resident care plans.
- Monitor Medicare and PDPM documentation to support appropriate reimbursement.
- Review clinical documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
- Assist with survey preparation and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Educate nursing staff regarding documentation requirements and MDS processes.
Qualifications
- Current New Mexico RN or LPN license in good standing.
- Previous MDS experience preferred.
- Knowledge of PDPM, Medicare regulations, and long-term care reimbursement.
- Strong assessment, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
- Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred.
