Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items with precision, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish.
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new ideas and ensuring ingredient availability.
- Handle food with care, following strict food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination.
- Support food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, portioning, and plating to streamline kitchen operations.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, ovens, grills, and fryers.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate meal service during busy hours while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Maintain inventory levels by monitoring stock and notifying management of supply needs for smooth kitchen flow.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or food service environment is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated skills in food handling, meal preparation, and cooking techniques are essential.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices is required.
- Experience with catering or large-scale food production is advantageous.
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in culinary techniques will help you excel in this role.
