Position Purpose
The Safety Education Manager collaborates with the University Recreation and Well-Being staff, including but not limited to the Associate Director, Assistant Director of Facility Operations, and Student Development Coordinator, to coordinate and deliver American Red Cross CPR, First Aid/AED, and lifeguard certification courses for University Recreation and Well-Being employees, the OU campus community, and external participants as needed.
This role supports the planning, marketing, and implementation of safety training programs that enhance community engagement and generate revenue for University Recreation and Well-Being. The position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and occasional daytime hours, as needed. The number of weekly hours varies depending on the time of the semester and the need.
The Safety Education Manager plays a vital role in equipping Rec Well staff and the OU community with the skills and confidence to respond effectively in emergency situations, helping to save lives while ensuring compliance with required workplace certifications.
