Job Description:
- Dispatch drivers in accordance with established procedures.
- Take customer calls and provide a positive customer service experience.
- Update Arrival, Departure and ETA times into Dispatch System.
- Prepare trip envelopes for outgoing drivers
- Coordinate with Billing Department on exceptions and special trips
- Maximize “loaded miles” and minimize “empty miles”
- Verify all load data prior to marking load as delivered.
- Provide detailed directions and instructions to ensure on-time delivery.
- Follow up and communicate status of each shipment to ensure on-time customer delivery requirements are met.
- Update customers on the status of loads.
- Update team on problem loads, and the actions that will or have been taken.
- Monitor driver logs for errors/violations of hours of service and schedule available drivers to determine the best fit scenario in conjunction with each driver’s hours of service.
- Monitor truck and trailer equipment as to its availability
- Coordinate roadside service repairs for trucks/trailers that are OTR as needed and advise Shop.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate success at negotiation and teamwork.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in an efficient manner and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where change is a constant event.
- Must have excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook and McLeod or comparable dispatch software/screens.
- Must be able to work alternate shifts, after hour shifts and weekends as needed.
- Must be able to manage processes efficiently and have good follow up skills, time management, and a sense of urgency and be able to apply a strong attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 - $16.00 per hour
