We are seeking a Data Analytics & Program Operations Consultant to support a Veterans Health Administration (VHA) innovation portfolio with analytics, dashboard strategy, program operations, and cross-functional project management. This role helps ensure leadership can see what is in the pipeline, what is moving, what has stalled, and what is worth scaling.
Responsibilities
- Operate and continuously improve the innovation portfolio's platforms and tooling, ensuring continuity of intake, review, tracking, and reporting workflows across all initiatives.
- Manage intake and triage workflows for innovation submissions from industry partners, clinical staff, and internal stakeholders — including routing, evaluation tracking, status management, and disposition.
- Maintain the data model and source-of-truth records behind the portfolio: cohorts, initiatives, pilots, partners, milestones, decisions, and outcomes.
- Document workflows, process maps, SOPs, and user guides so the program does not depend on any single person's memory.
- Identify automation opportunities and reduce manual effort across recurring program processes.
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards that track pipeline health, cohort progress, engagement, review status, adoption, risk, and program KPIs.
- Analyze program data and surface trends, risks, bottlenecks, and recommendations in leadership-ready form.
- Produce recurring executive reporting: status reports, KPI rollups, dashboard narratives, and briefing materials.
- Present analytics and program updates directly to government clients and internal leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 3–7+ years in management consulting, federal consulting, data analytics, program operations, business analysis, or technology-enabled program management.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining dashboards and performance reporting using Power BI, Excel, or comparable tools.
- Strong client-facing communication skills, including the ability to brief government leaders and facilitate discussions with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to produce polished, executive-ready PowerPoint decks and data-driven presentations.
- Experience gathering requirements, documenting workflows, building process maps, and translating business needs into functional requirements.
- Working fluency with Microsoft 365 — SharePoint, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint — and ideally Power Automate or Power Apps.
- Ability to manage concurrent workstreams and maintain delivery cadence in a fast-moving client environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting VHA or another federal health care client.
- Experience with innovation programs, accelerators, technology pilots, or industry innovation programs.
- Experience with intake portals, workflow automation, CRM-style tracking systems, SharePoint-based tools, Power Apps, ServiceNow, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with health care operations, Veteran health care, clinical innovation, digital health, or health system transformation.
- Exposure to AI use-case identification, prototyping, or adoption support.
